LASIK Touch Up/LASIK Enhancement Surgery

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a popular, FDA-approved vision correction surgery that uses a laser to reshape the cornea and correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. While LASIK eye surgery usually provides long-lasting results, some people may require a LASIK enhancement or touch-up procedure to achieve optimal vision.

Most people who undergo LASIK surgery will achieve 20/20 vision or better, but some may experience residual refractive errors, such as undercorrection or overcorrection, that affect their vision and require an adjustment. Few patients require LASIK touch ups, as most patients achieve satisfactory results with their initial LASIK procedure. In fact, an FDA study on the outcomes of Contoura® Vision LASIK eye surgery reported a success rate over 96%, with 30% of patients reporting seeing better after LASIK than they had previously with glasses or contact lenses.
